Privacy Policy
Effective
RaisingGoodSports makes short videos for parents about youth sports. We publish them here and on YouTube, TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, and X. This policy explains what information we handle, both on this website and through the tool we use to run our own Facebook and Instagram accounts, and how to ask us to delete it.
Who we are
RaisingGoodSports is an independent video channel. For any question about this policy or about your information, email [email protected].
This website
This site has no accounts, no forms, no cookies, no analytics, and no advertising or tracking code. It runs no scripts at all.
The site is hosted by Netlify. Like any web host, Netlify processes the technical details your browser sends when it loads a page, such as your IP address, your browser type, the page you asked for, and the time. That is used to deliver the site and keep it secure. We do not use it to identify you. Netlify describes its own handling in the Netlify privacy policy.
Our Facebook and Instagram tool
We run a private app, connected to Meta's platform, to manage our own Facebook Page and Instagram account. Only we use it. It has no public sign-in, and nobody else can log in to it or connect their own account to it.
Through Meta's services, the app receives:
- Our own account details. The IDs of our Page and Instagram account, and the access tokens that let the app act for them.
- Our own posts. Their captions, media, links, and publish times.
- How our posts perform. Counts such as views, likes, and comments. These are totals and do not identify anyone.
- Public comments on our posts. The text of each comment or reply, when it was posted, how many likes it has, and the public name or username it was posted under. Facebook may also send an ID that it assigns to the commenter for our Page.
The app does not ask Meta for private messages, email addresses, phone numbers, or friend lists, and it does not read anything from your profile beyond what appears publicly on your comment.
How we use that information
- To publish and schedule our videos and posts.
- To see how our posts are doing.
- To read comments, so we can reply and learn what is useful to parents.
We do not sell this information. We do not use it for advertising or to build profiles of individual people, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. It is handled by us and by service providers that process it on our behalf, and we would disclose it only if the law required us to.
Where it is kept, and for how long
The information is stored on private systems that we control, and access is limited to us. Access tokens are kept secret and are never published.
We keep our posts, their performance counts, and the comments on them for as long as they are useful for the purposes above. Deleting your comment on Facebook or Instagram stops us from receiving it. To remove a copy we already hold, send us a request as described below.
How to delete your data
You can ask us to delete any information we hold about you, such as comments you left on our posts.
- Email [email protected] with the subject "Data deletion request".
- Tell us which platform it was, Facebook or Instagram, and the name or username you commented under, so we can find it.
We will delete what we hold and confirm by reply within 30 days. You do not need to give a reason. You can ask for a copy of your information, or for a correction, in the same way.
Children
Our videos are made for parents and other adults. This site and our accounts are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it.
Other platforms
When you watch, follow, or comment on YouTube, TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, or X, that platform collects and uses your information under its own privacy policy, not this one. For Facebook and Instagram, that is the Meta Privacy Policy.
Changes to this policy
If what we do changes, we will update this page and the effective date at the top.
